- When completing assignments that must be typed, we use Googledocs, an Internet site that allows students to create typed documents.
- Googledocs is very similar to Microsoft Word, but because it’s an Internet site, it can be accessed anywhere!!! (Including at home or even on your smart phone!)
- Googledocs works best if student’s access it using Google Chrome.
- Students can get to Googledocs by going to HTTP://mail.google.com/a/altoonastudent.com
- The Altoona Area Junior High School created a Googledocs account for every student when they entered 7th grade. So every student has a specific USERNAME that they must use each time they log in.
- There’s a formula that students follow to figure out their username. The formula is as follows:
- The student’s first name, followed by a period followed by
- The student’s last name, followed by
- The LAST TWO digits of the student’s ID number, followed by
- @, followed by
- altoonastudent.com
- For example if the student is Pamela Marie Davis with an ID # of 123456, her username would be pamela.davis56@altoonastudent.com
- Students must create a password for the site. Team 3 teachers require that their students’ passwords follow the following formula:
- Student’s full ID #, followed by
- Student's initials of first and last name
